“mammut carries a lifetime of learnings in real estate development”
Jesper Dam, CEO
“In 2006, Mammut Group developed a new regional headquarters for WHO Europe in Copenhagen, Denmark. With emphasis on the overall architectural expression, we contributed to a culture change by introducing a completely new way of working – prioritising an open space layout with unassigned seating zones. This was achieved through an inclusive process where employees participated in workshops and interviews. I am happy to announce that we succeeded in creating a state-of-the-art office building for WHO. My personal insistence to invest in an extraordinary design paid off: we achieved record high rent levels and a final record high valuation of the property. This was decisive to my belief in architectural design also having a direct financial impact.”
“As a partner to BaseCamp Student in the Nordic region, I developed an iconic building design in Lyngby, Denmark that was awarded “The Worlds’ Best Residential Development” by MIPIM. The building was created for a variety of residents, with most of the building volume being allocated to Purpose Build Student Accommodation (PBSA) for BaseCamp Student. The vision was to create not only an extremely high living quality, but also an inviting surrounding environment to socialise and interact. The creation of a public rooftop park – accessible from ground level to the sixth floor – has been of immense value to the community, becoming both a destination and a landmark for the municipality.”
“My personal insistence in the iconic design and incorporation of a public park paid off. We achieved more than 50% extra volume for the project, demonstrating the municipality’s acknowledgement of the project’s vision. To date, BaseCamp Lyngby has received more than 40 international awards, and the property was an important centrepiece in the partial divestment of the BaseCamp portfolio.”

“The storytelling of a vision for a project is increasingly important. The impact on and interrelation with the surrounding environment, buildings and people should always be factored in and have an influence on the project vision.”
“In Aarhus Denmark, this conscious approach created an opportunity to develop a vision for a project which actively contributes to accelerate an urban development.”
“When we approached the municipality of Copenhagen with the vision for the BaseCamp South Campus project, we highlighted the need for a gentrification of the district – a transformation to revitalise not only the building itself, but also the surrounding neighbourhood. The vision for the project and the BaseCamp brand of Basecamp convinced the authorities to process zoning and building permit application approval in an extraordinarily short timeframe.”
“QUALITY PROJECTS AND RETURN ON INVESTMENTS GO HAND IN HAND”
Jesper Dam, CEO
“As an acknowledgment of the visionary, high quality projects and the continued brand building of BaseCamp, a major Swedish stakeholder agreed to divest a proportion of an urban development for a PBSA project. It simply made sense architecturally for the municipality, meeting the demand for PBSA in the city of Malmø, and also contributed to the desired energy for the city area.”
